James Brooks Blackmon

James Brooks Blackmon made his debut on November 2, 2011 at 10:19 AM.

He came bouncing into this world at 7 pounds 1 oz. and was 19.5 inches long.

He was sweet and precious and absolutely loved his big sister.

First picture with Mom & Dad...Ross is one proud PaPa!!

Here we are in the delivery room.  I can't feel the lower half of my body, but seeing him for the first time will stick with me forever!

Best Coach there is!! Couldn't have done it without him!
I just loved the scrubs the hospital gave Ross...so fitting!

The Week Before Brooks' Arrival

So, alot has happened since the last time I updated the blog...Biggest of which is that we had a precious baby Boy!! Here is a little bit of what we did right before he arrived.

The week before we had the baby we decided to do some fun things with Cambree since this was her last week as an only child...

We took her to our favorite pumpkin patch in Grapevine, she was soooo tired by the time we left, but she had a great time.  I look like I'm about to pop...

Of course, we celebrated Halloween, Cambree was Cinderella, which should be no surprise to anyone.  We went trick or treating in our neighborhood.  Ross absolutely LOVES halloween, so I put on this "awesome" pregnancy costume.  Don't be jealous, I still have it and am more than willing to let anyone borrow it. And yes, this is 2 days before delivery.

The next day I had one final day to get ready for Brooks to make his arrival (Thank God for a scheduled C-section and a cooperative baby)!
So, Ross took Cambree and I to lunch and to get a pedicure.  He didn't get the pedicure, but he was our chauffeur.  It was a great day and exactly what I needed before the baby got here!

Crazy Christmas 2009

Ok, as most of you know we have a crazy Christmas schedule, lots and lots of people to visit and places to go. So, I am going to put all of this in one posting. I will tell our journey through pictures and captions. Enjoy!
Cambree has developed some serious "stranger danger" so anyone who is not Mom or Dad she is not very interested in. Usually she warms up after a little while, so that is why she is crying in these pictures... :)

First Visit: Grandpa Steve came in from Houston and brought lots of great gifts.

Here is the first time that Steve held her.

Now we are opening gifts, she is checking them out from afar...Grandpa is holding the presents, so maybe he is OK. :)

Checking out the cool shopping cart thta she can walk behind.

On Christmas Eve Morning we got up and went to Nana & Pop's to have some Christmas breakfast and enjoy some family time. Cambree was once again not interested in anyone else holding her except Mom or Dad, but eventually she warmed up. Love my family!

Nana's first attempt.

Breakfast as a family.
Maybe Nana & Pop aren't so bad... :)
Sister Sara

She really liked the Teddy Bear Pop got her.

Aunt Katie got her the cutest hat!

Aunt Katie also gave it a go. After a little while, Aunt Katie was pretty great too!
So, on Christmas Eve the weather got really bad. We actually had a white Christmas. We got snowed in. Usually we go to my Mom's on Christmas Eve, but this year that was not possible. So, we snuggled down and just hung out at home. It was a nice change of pace.
Look at the snow on our front porch.!

Such a pretty Christmas Surprise.

Maggie really loved the snow, here she is in action.

Bailey was not as interested.

Christmas morning at home was very nice. Cambree is officially crawling and pulling up on everything. So, our world has been turned upside down by a mobile baby.

The dogs enjoying the fire and the Christmas Decorations.

Pulling up and cruising around.

Crawling, Crawling Everywhere!

Too Cute!!

Uncle Tyler and Grandma came to visit.

In the afternoon on Christmas day we went to visit Grammy and Grampy. Then we actaully got to go and see a movie. It was a great Christmas!!Hangin' with Grammy

Visiting Santa Clause

So, I took Cambree to see Santa Clause on a Friday afternoon. We had to wait in line about 30 minutes and she was happy as a clam. She was "talking" to everyone, having a good time laughing and smiling. I was sure we were going to be able to get at least one good picture with Jolly Ol' St. Nick. So, when it was our turn I told the camera lady to be prepared because I knew what was coming. Usually I have about a 30 second window before we are full on screaming. So, I set her down and RAN out of the way in hopes that we had captured a cute nonsmiling but noncrying picture. Obviously Cambree had something else in mind. But, what we ended up with is priceless, so I can't complain!

Thanksgiving 2009

For Thanksgiving this year we took the trip to Midland to visit Ross' family. We had a great time and got to spend some good quality time with a great family! Cambree is on the verge of crawling while in Midland, Barbara Schrader & Great Ma had some good advice on enticing her to. Hopefully very soon she will be!

I love this girl!!!
Such a Daddy's girl!
Cambree loved this toy of Owen & Brody's. So, Grammy bought her one for Christmas.

Halloween 2009

For Halloween this year we took Cambree to a pumpkin patch. Since she is too young to fully appreciate trick or treating we decided to wait on that until next year, so we dressed her up and enjoyed the beautiful weather! Thanks Mom (Grammy) for coming along to take our family pictures!
