6 Month's Old

Soooo...Our precious Angel is 6 months old. I just can't believe it. She is growing and changing everyday. She is getting lots more hair, but it is so blonde you still can't really see it. She is constantly rolling from her back to her stomach, but she gets stuck there and cries until I help her roll to her back. When she is on her tummy, she is pulling her legs up like she is about to crawl, so I have a feeling that it won't be long...She is babbling all the time, I am just waiting for her first word! She is the cutest thing ever and here are a few pictures from her six month phot shoot.

She was not very intersted in smiling, out of 100 pictures, she probably smiled in 10 of them.

She LOVES her Daddy!!

Happy Fourth of July!

For the fourth we took our first Blackmon family vacation and went to Horseshoe Bay to visit Great Ma & Great Pa. We had a great time!! Horseshoe Bay is about an hour outside of Austin, so we loaded up the truck (it truly felt like we were moving out of the house) and hit the road Thursday afternoon. We arrived and had chili cheese dogs waiting for us, I had never had one before and realized that I have been missing out. Friday morning Ross got up and went and played golf with his Grandpa and I stayed at the house with Mimi and we took care of the baby. Friday afternoon we took Cambree on her first boat ride and she got to meet her twin cousins Owen & Broday. I think next year they will be a hoot together!

For the fourth, Jim and Mimi throw a big party for the boat parade that their community puts on every year. It is lots of fun! There is a land parade, a boat parade and a hat contest. Cambree slept through the land parade and was the star of the show for the party. We really enjoyed it and had the best fireworks view on the lake from their patio. Here are a few pictures from the festivities.

Here is Cambree on the boat in her life jacket that Mimi got her. She looked just like a turtle, but she really enjoyed the ride. She didn't cry once!

Eating her sweet potatoes before the party began.

Here we are, mingling with the people :)

Look at those gorgeous blue eyes! She sure didn't get those from me.

On the deck, watching the boat parade.

At the pool of the Mariott...she loves the water...she just kicks and kicks...

I think she is going to be a good swimmer!

Cambree's Favorite Pastime

Morning time is the best time for Smiles!!

So Cambree has a favorite pastime...She turns her aquarium on and then she turns it off and then she turns it on and then she turns it off and so on and so on. It is hilarious, she is so impressed with the fact that she can do it. Of course what I haven't mentioned is that she does it all with her feet.

The aquarium is on....

And now it's off...and so on...she can usually go on for a while!

Eating...yummm....

Sitting Pretty in her bumbo

So, Cambree started eating baby food in the middle of June. We started her on cereal once a day. At first, she was not interested at all. She wouldn't open her mouth, and if I could pry her mouth open and get the cereal in there she would spit it right back out. After a while I started giving her some level one food and everything changed. Of course, I made the mistake of starting her with bananas which she loved. Next we tried Sweet Peas and everytime I gave her a bite she actually shuttered in disgust. It was really funny, but I only did that for two days because I just felt so sorry for her. Now we are on Sweet Potatoes and she likes those a lot. She will make yummm noises every couple of bites, which makes me think she really likes them. Anyways, we are venturing into the world of food...today we are going to try green beans, hopefully they will go better than the peas!

With more Cereal on her face than in her mouth :)

Yummm....Can you hear her making the noise?

I think this was our first sweet potato day, she was much happier!

Pool Time...Fun or Not???

So, we have started trying to get Cambree into the pool. We have made two attempts, the first one was two weekends ago and it was very unsuccessful. She was not the least bit interested, I think the water was too cold and there were too many people in our community pool.

But, I tried again today...I really took my time getting her into the water. She actually cried the first time her foot hit the water, but I worked her in slowly and in the end she LOVED it!! She couldn't stop kicking and she even enjoyed her pool float. We have to be really careful because we can't put sunscreen on her, so she stayed in the shade and had a great time. Here are some pics from our two attempts.
She was crying right before this picture, her Daddy can always cheer her up!

She was just not interested in the pool.

Here we are working our way into the water.

She finally decided that she loved the water and stayed in her float for a good 30 minutes!

She was tuckered out and gave her mommy a chance to lay out!

What's New With Cambree??

Well, lots of things. She is such an amazing little girl, but if you are reading this...you already know that!! :) Anyways, since my last blog we have been to the doctor for her 4 month check up and Dr. Hampton was so impressed with her that she took her off of her special (EXPENSIVE) formula!!! YAY!!! We are so excited!! She is now on regular formula and has been taken off of her acid reflux medicine.

She weighed in at a hefty 14 pounds 13 ounces and was 24 inches long. Which puts her in the 70th percentile for weight and 50th percentile for height compared to other FOUR month old babies. Which when you have a preemie they usually don't catch up until they are between one and two, so that is AWESOME!! She is wearing 3-6 month and 6 month clothes now. So, she is just like a full term baby!

We have also started feeding her cereal once a day and next week we will start feeding her level one food. She is not very fond of the cereal, she mostly just spits it out, but it is funny to watch her learn how to eat. I am sure when we start giving her vegetables and fruit she will enjoy the flavors. She is supposed to be doing tummy time twice a day for 20 minutes, but she is not very interested in that...she usually just puts her head down and cries until we turn her over. She is getting really close to rolling, so I guess when she finally does that she will have no choice but to lay on her tummy.

So, that is what is new with Cambree...here are some pictures...I can't believe she turns five months on Friday...the time has flown by!!

She smiles all the time, but not ever for the camera.

She loves her playmat and the butterflies that are connected to it! We had to put it in her Pack n' Play so she wouldn't roll off the edge.

So, we got out her Jumperoo...and she loves it. Notice that we had to stack books under her feet because she couldn't quite reach the ground. But, she just jumps like crazy as soon as you put her in it!

Natalie's Graduation

I am proud to say that my baby sister Natalie graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington!! YAY NAT!! 4 of 4!! I am so proud!! She is going to be an elementary school teacher and is currently looking for a job.
Well, on the day that she graduated it was like the old days...the four girls and Becca & Daddy. It was pretty cool, we went to dinner without husbands or kids. The table was so quite and peaceful, I really enjoyed it!! Here are some pics.
